Online Counselling for Home-test Kits User

Home-test Kits are now available in Hong Kong from three brands. However, some problems may occur during self-testing at home alone. For example,

  • Difficulties in technical procedures
  • Difficulties in result interpretation
  • Hesitation /Anxiety
  • Unable to accept positive result

According to WHO (World Health Organization), testing of HIV should adhere to 5Cs, namely Consent, Confidentiality, Counselling, Correct test result and Connection to prevention, care and treatment.  Therefore online counselling service was set up to ensure users receiving enough support when they use the home-test kits.
